My son looks forward to the Elf on the Shelf tradition every year. He loves searching for his elves, Niccolia and Snowflake and gets a kick out of discovering where they've hidden themselves each day. He has also enjoyed the addition of some Elf on the Shelf pets over the years. Jaime's son has an elf named Caleb. It became a ritual for her stepdaughters to take charge, find new spots, and plan activities for Caleb. Now, she has taken up the mantle of hiding Caleb, but it's for her granddaughter to see. As we edge closer to the holiday season, it's clear that Elf on the Shelf has woven its way into the hearts of families everywhere.
